Toughen the Bones

no need to roam into the unknown
got the whole world outside my window
got to fill the belly and toughen the bones
he endures alone finds his true home

i go days without sleep, weeks i won't eat
walk on broke glass and coal with bare feet
watch me prefrom feats beyond belief
withstand the freezing cold and extreme heat
i may receive beating but won't know defeat
slow down my breathing and calm the heartbeat

i learn to endure and to ignore pain
by shutting off nerves that inform the brain
sustained by the air, sunshine, and rain
refrain from neccesities, all that remains

i hold my breath for four minutes and fourty seconds
these old yogies they come to me for lessons
and when the exit they ask for my for blessings
like christians begging for forgiveness at confession
hearing my songs, like getting your palms read
telling you thoughts whats in your moms head
